Breastfeeding Hypnobirth

All our classes can be delivered in small group sessions or privately in your own home. Please contact us for class dates, times and availability.

You can attend the class on your own, or bring a birth partner. Ideally this should be someone who will be supporting you during your labour and birth.

Our range of courses have been developed to cover essential information from conception, through to labour and birth, and beyond into the postnatal period. If you have any specific requirements that are not covered in the listed courses, please contact us, and we will develop a programme especially for you.












Healthy Pregnancy Workshop (Back to list)

Classes can be undertaken at any time during pregnancy. This course is designed to help you achieve a healthy pregnancy by focussing on bodily changes during pregnancy, importance of antenatal care, factors affecting growth and development of the baby, and effects of smoking, drugs and alcohol (including safe use of complementary therapies). During this course you will be taught massage and other techniques that can be used to alleviate back discomfort and other aches and pains during pregnancy


4 hour workshop to include;

  • Overview of antenatal Care

  • Fetal growth and development

  • Common pregnancy symptoms and how to alleviate them

  • Use of complementary therapies

  • Pregnancy warning signs

  • Environmental factors that affect growth and development (Smoking, drugs, alcohol)

  • Healthy eating and maintaining a healthy weight

  • Perineal massage

  • Relationship issues

  • Bonding with your unborn baby

Labour and birth preparation workshop (Back to list)
Classes can be undertaken at any time during pregnancy, but ideally after 26 weeks. This dedicated interactive workshop aims to give you and your birth partner the knowledge and skills required to prepare you for labour and birth, and to assist you in making decisions and developing your birth plan.

Active Birth Partner Workshop (Back to list)
Classes can be undertaken at any time during pregnancy, but ideally after 26 weeks. This practical workshop focuses on learning techniques that will assist you during labour and birth. Class content includes the use of relaxation and breathing techniques, and labour and birth positions that help to promote a natural birth. The workshop is designed to explore benefits of labour support and the role of the birth partner. We will teach birth partners massage and other effective techniques that can be used during labour and birth.

This 4 hour workshop covers

  • Optimal fetal positioning

  • Use of complementary therapies for labour and birth

Hypnobirthing (Back to list)
Hypnobirthing is a well-established technique used successfully by many women to have the birth they envision. Hypnobirthing can help you stay calm and relaxed during your birth to enable you to have a positive birth experience. The techniques that you will learn will enable your body to release endorphins which are the body's natural pain relief to ensure your body works as nature intended. The powerful techniques that you will learn enable you to release fears or anxieties around birth so that you actually look forward to giving birth with confidence. The techniques include breathing exercises, visualisation and self-hypnosis for fear release and relaxation.

,The Hypnobirthing advantage;

  • Eliminates the Fear-tension-Pain syndrome before, during and after birthing to enhance the bodies natural endorphins and reduce stress hormones.

Course Outline

  • Several hypnosis techniques will be practiced in class to be expanded on with your partner at home.

  • Other methods of relaxation utilised including massage, affirmations and visualisation

  • Information on compiling your birth preferences for labour and birthing positions.

  • You will also be encouraged to practice the techniques at home

  • You will also see video footage of hypnobirthing births

Group courses are a comprehensive 12 hours in length and can be delivered over three or four evenings, or full days during the weekend. Group courses cost £200 per couple and will include The Hypnobirthing Book (Katharine Graves) and Colour and Comfort CD

Private sessions in your own home will costs £350 plus travel expenses. This will include The Hypnobirthing Book (Katharine Graves) and Colour and Comfort CD

Breastfeeding (Back to list)
This course can be attended at any time during pregnancy, but ideally after 26 weeks. This practical session will teach you the practical skills required to get breastfeeding off to a good start. We will explore the health benefits of breastfeeding, and teach you how to effectively positioning your baby at the breast, and how to recognise effective feeding.

This 2 hour comprehensive workshop includes the following;

  • Health benefits of breastfeeding for mum and baby

  • How to recognise that your baby is hungry

  • How to recognise that baby is getting enough

  • How to prevent common breastfeeding problems

  • Teaching positioning and attachment skills

  • Teaching hand expression

  • How your partner can help support you breastfeed

Preparing for parenthood (Back to list)
This 4 hour workshop is designed to prepare you for parenthood. Class content includes physical and emotional changes following birth, and practical skills for when the baby arrives. Infant feeding, general care of the baby, bathing and nappy changing will be covered during the course.
